How long delivery takes, by part of the UK

Everything leaves us within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. What varies after that is Royal Mail's own transit time, not our terms.

WhereTypical time from dispatch
England, Wales and southern Scotland2 to 3 working days
Northern Scotland and the Highlands3 to 5 working days
Scottish islands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands3 to 5 working days
Northern Ireland3 to 5 working days

There are no surcharge postcodes. A kit to Lerwick costs the same to post as a kit to Leeds.

What it costs

  • Free on UK orders over £20.
  • £5.99 flat on orders under £20, wherever you are.
  • Nothing to return something - we pay the return postage and refund in full.

Most single kits sit between £9.99 and £26.99, so two small kits usually clear the free-delivery threshold where one does not. Worth knowing before you split an order.

What arrives in the parcel

A complete kit, not a pattern and a shopping list. Every kit in the main range holds:

  • The fabric, cut to size with a margin for mounting.
  • The threads, sorted and labelled to match the chart symbols.
  • A blunt tapestry needle - blunt on purpose, so it finds the hole rather than splitting the weave.
  • Printed instructions and a readable chart.

A hoop is the one thing not always included, which is why the hoops and frames range exists. Aida, threads and floss and patterns all post on their own if you are topping up rather than starting fresh.

Not sure which kit to order?

Two short reads settle it for most people: cross stitch versus embroidery explains which of the two you are actually buying, and what size kit to start with is honest about how long each size really takes. Buying a present? The gifts and occasions range is sorted by who it is for, and the gift guide goes by occasion.

Or just email us - tell us who it is for and how much stitching they have done, and we will point you at two or three.

UK delivery - FAQs

Do you deliver to the whole UK?

Yes, every UK postcode on the same terms - England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. There are no surcharge zones and no postcodes we quietly refuse.

How much is UK delivery?

Free on orders over £20 and a flat £5.99 below that, wherever in the UK you are. If something is not right we refund in full and pay the return postage.

How quickly do orders leave you?

Within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. Orders placed at the weekend go out on Monday. After that, mainland addresses usually see the parcel in 2 to 3 working days.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

No - we post within the UK only. That is what lets us keep one flat price, free delivery over £20 and free returns for everybody.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

No, we are online only. There is no counter, but the range is wider than a shop could hold and returns cost you nothing.
